International Conference on Computational Methods in Science & Technology (ICCMST 2021) is an international forum for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to share and publicize their research work and development activities in various research areas. ICC MST 2021 - Hon'ble Chief Guests

Prof. Rajeev Ahuja

IIT Ropar,

Prof. Rajeev Ahuja has joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar director from April 1st, 2021 Before joining as director at IIT Ropar, Rajeev Ahuja was professor of computational Materials science at Uppsala University, Sweden. He is one of the most highly cited researchers in Sweden. He has done his Ph.D. from I.I.T. Roorkee in India in 1992. Same year he has joined Uppsala University, Sweden as postdoctoral fellow. He became Assistant Professor in 1996, Associate Professor in 2002 and become Professor in 2007 at Uppsala University, Sweden. His main area of interest is computational materials science with focus on energy such Batteries, Hydrogen Storage & production, sensors as well high pressure physics. He has published 977 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals H-Index of 86 (Google Scholar), i-10 index (Google Scholar) 585 & no. of citations more than 34100, of which more than100 are in high profile journals (like Science , Nature , Nature Materials, PNAS etc.).

He was recently elected FRSC (fellow of Royal Society Chemistry), London, UK, APS-Fellow by American Physical Society (APS), USA and Appointed in the advisory Board of Journal of Materials Chemistry A (IF=10.8) & Materials Advances from Royal Society of Chemistry (England). He is Associate editor of Nano Energy (IF=16.6). He was also awarded Beller Lectureship for the APS March Meeting, 13-17 March 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He been awarded the Wallmark prize for 2011 from KVA (Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences), and has previously received the Eder Lilly & Sven Thureus prize and the Benzelius prize from KVS. Ahuja is an elected member of the Swedish Royal Society of Sciences (KVS), of the board of the European High Pressure Research Group as well as of the executive board of the International Association for the Advancement of High Pressure Science and Technology.

Ahuja has supervised 30 PhD students, more than 35 postdocs and he regularly acts as a reviewer for several international funding agencies including NSF and DOE from the USA, NRC from Canada, ESF from Estonia, STW from The Netherlands, National Science Centre from Poland, European Science Foundation (ESF), Strasbourg, France, The Fund for Scientific Research – FNRS, Belgium, National Research, Development and Innovation Office from Hungary, IBS from South Korea etc. He was awarded Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), MHRD, India at IIT Indore, 2019, Award of Global Initiative of Academic Network (GIAN) of MHRD, India at IIT Indore, India (Jan. 2018) & Award of Global Initiative of Academic Network (GIAN) of MHRD, India at Pune Univ., India (26-30Dec. 2016).

Dr. PK Khosla

Executive Director,

Dr P.K. Khosla passed M.Tech. from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra in the domain of Electronics & Communication. He displayed his calibre and potential right from the outset as during this course, he was awarded the University Medal for being a topper

Dr Khosla always had a penchant for learning and knowledge and therefore he decided to carry on his academic journey by enrolling in PhD. He did his PhD in Electronics & Communication from Thapar University.

He started his career by joining in as Scientist B in prestigious Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). There, he founded the much sought after ‘Embedded Systems’ division in the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, and headed it for 5 ½ years.

The embedded products developed by him and his team have been successfully inducted into on-board systems such as missiles and aircrafts. Moreover, he executed Project ‘TERA’, right from its genesis to its completion. The project was of high avail and had a sanctioned cost of mammoth Rs. 100cr. His contributions, in the fields of science and technology have been acknowledged widely and thus, he has received several awards of eminence :

    • He was bestowed The National Technology Day Award, 2012.
    • He received the Coveted Scientist of the year award – 2015 from the Honorable Min. of Defence and the Min. of Finance.
    • He is also the recipient of ‘Engineer of the year award’ – 2017, accorded by the Chandigarh University.
    • He received ‘Digital India Award’ – 2020 in the category ‘InnovatInnovation in Pandemic’ from the Honourable President of India.

Up until 2018 he bequeathed his services to the Terminal Ballistics Research Lab (TBRL), DRDO, as Scientist G. His determined and relentless efforts have enabled scientists to identify the previously unforeseen and latent issues in the defence systems.

On 18th Dec 2018, he took over the command of C-DAC, Mohali, as its Executive Director. Dr Khosla’s experience and credentials have held high utility in this organisation. Here he heads multiple teams, working in areas of Cyber Security, Healthcare technologies, eGovernance, Artificial Intelligence, Agri-Electronics and Quantum Computing.

He led the initiative to launch the widely acclaimed eSanjeevani-the National Teleconsultation Service which has carried out over 13 million consultations as of Sept, 2021, Cyber Threat Management System and Emergency Response Support System (Dial 112) and the like. At C-DAC, he also started new M Tech courses in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security.

He has authored one book, several book chapters, numerous national and international papers. Apart from his usual work, he likes to occupy himself by regularly guiding and mentoring PhD and MTech students. He has widely travelled and has good international exposure, too.

Prof. Subramaniam Anantha Ramakrishna

CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation(CSIO),

Prof. S. Anantha Ramakrishna received the M.Sc. (integrated 5 years) degree in Physics from IIT Kanpur, in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree from the Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, in 2001. He worked on theoretical aspects of light propagation in random media including temporal signatures of Anderson localization during his PhD and was supervised by the Late Prof. N. Kumar. After working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher with Sir John Pendry at Imperial College London, he joined IIT Kanpur as an Assistant Professor in 2003 and became a Professor in 2012. He joined CSIR-CSIO as Director on 27 July 2020 on lien from IIT Kanpur. Current research interests include technological applications of metamaterials and plasmonics.

Mohammad Reza Nikoo

Associate Professor of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, and a Member of the Iranian Federation of Young Elite (2008-present). He has supervised 7 Ph.D. and 35 MSc theses. He published more than 120 journal papers (90% in Q1 Journals). He was selected as a Top Young Researcher in Shiraz university for three consecutive years in 2018, 2019, and 2020 and Iran’s Eminent Young Scientist in 2020. The impact of his studies receives 2276 citations (H-index=29).
